Hi all,
Thanks for another great monthly meeting of the Syracuse Urbanism Collective!
At this month’s meeting, we focused on some of our ongoing projects and upcoming events. We also had a call to action for our members to volunteer. Since we’re 100% volunteer-run, we can’t make this work happen without your help.
Upcoming Events & Volunteer Days:
- For all events, visit: https://syracuseurbanism.org/calendar/. Check back as we continue to update with more events.
- Sign up for the Onondaga Creekwalk Wayfinding Project implementation this weekend.
- Register for our Downtown Tree Walk with Clare Carney, Community Forester for the City of Syracuse, Thursday June 5th at 6pm.
- Attend the SWAG Bike Fest on Saturday, June 7 at 10am at the Meachem Park Pavilion.
- Attend the next project team meeting for the Regional Planning team at Salt City Market on Monday, June 9.
Ongoing Projects – We also need participation & volunteers in the ongoing projects listed below!
- Community Streets – We’ll have a volunteer effort soon to paint temporary curb extensions with a temporary bike storage structure at the intersection of Salina and Jefferson streets.
- Public Policy – We’re working to try to get some of our recommendations for public policies and programs adopted.
- Urbanist Book Club – We’ll have our second book ready and a meeting scheduled soon. Stay tuned!
- Mini Meadows – We always welcome new volunteers! Our main focus right now is on maintaining and enhancing the work we’ve done at Loguen Park.
