Support for Vision Zero Action Plan
Councilor _______,
I’m reaching out to urge you and the Common Council to vote Yes to adopt the Vision Zero Action Plan. Traffic safety is a major problem in this city, for all users of the road and all means of transportation. People walking, rolling, biking, driving, taking the bus, and traveling around town in other ways all deserve a safe journey, and this issue should be a top priority. I believe strongly that if we slow vehicle speeds, design safe streets for people walking, rolling, and biking, and promote a culture of safety, using the tools described in the action plan, we can save lives, reduce injuries, improve quality of life, and set a strong example for other communities to follow.
