January 2026 Meeting Recap

Hi all,

Thanks for a great January meeting of the Syracuse Urbanism Collective!

At this month’s meeting at Pink Rock Culture Co-op, Trevor Wallace and Deputy Commissioner of Parks and Rec Chris Abbott spoke about the Syrathon, and Katy Newcomer Lawson presented about Syracuse Bike Party. Afterwards, we had breakout groups to brainstorm and schedule fun winter activities to do as a group! We ended with a happy hour at Wolff’s Biergarten. Thanks to everyone who brought a friend for membership month!

  • Birding at the Creekwalk – Sunday, February 1, 4-5pm at mile 0.0 of the creekwalk (Onondaga Lake Lounge)
  • Ice Skating – Sunday, February 1, 6-8pm at Clinton Square
  • Workshop: Winter Urbanism: A Guided Exploration of Opportunities and Challenges – Tuesday, February 3, 5:45-7:15pm at Hazard Branch Library
  • Design Team Kickoff Meeting – Thursday, February 5, 6-7pm at Salt City Market
  • Public Policy Team Meeting – Monday, February 9, 6-7pm at Salt City Market
  • Makerspace Meetup – Wednesday, February 11, 5:30-6:30pm at the Central Library
  • Moving People Transportation Coalition – Wednesday, February 18, 4-5:30pm at the CNY Philanthropy Center
  • Urbanist Book Club – Wednesday, February 18, 6:30-8pm at Salt City Market
  • Monthly General Meeting – Tuesday, February 24, 6-7:10pm at Beauchamp Branch Library
